- Hero’s Handbook Deluxe Edition (3rd Edition)
The starting Power Level (PL) is going to be 10 or 150 pts. Your characters are from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can adapt a Marvel Character that is not currently in the movies as of yet or develop your own.
You will start with no Experience Points.
You must be Human. There are no other races available for this setting.
- Skill Modifier: Your hero’s total modifier with any skill (ability rank + skill rank + advantage modifiers) cannot exceed the series power level +10. This includes untrained skill modifiers using only ability rank, and so sets an effective limit on all abilities associated with skills.
- Attack & Effect: The total of your hero’s attack bonus and effect rank with that attack cannot exceed twice the series power level. If an effect allows a resistance check, but does not require an attack check, its effect rank cannot exceed the series power level.
- Dodge & Toughness: The total of your hero’s Dodge and Toughness defenses cannot exceed twice the series power level.
- Parry & Toughness: The total of your hero’s Parry and Toughness defenses cannot exceed twice the series power level.
- Fortitude & Will: The total of your hero’s Fortitude and Will defenses cannot exceed twice the series power level.
Where to start with Character Creation?:You need to have a gimmick. Spider-Man is a spider. Hulk is contained rage. Thor is the god of lightning and thunder. Cap has his shield and he is a leader. What is your character’s gimmick?

Shared Backstory:Your characters were all foster children living in Meridian, Idaho. You can make up whatever backstory you want as to how you arrived there, but you were foster children from the ages of at least 10 to 18. At 18 you went away to college at Idaho State and graduated with a degree. You are now in your 20s or 30s. You grew up together. You had a friendly old man that would come around and look in on you, take you out to baseball games, and tell you stories about World War 2. More importantly, he taught you how to control your powers and use them for good. He instilled in you ideas like duty, honor, and teamwork.
Where is Captain America Now?:Only in the past year or so, Captain Rogers told you about his alter ego, Captain America and what he did for the Strategic Scientific Reserve to defeat Hydra. He also began to tell you about people of incredible abilities in the world that were showing up more and more frequently as time went on. Early 2020, Captain Rogers went missing one day. All that was left behind was a note directing the three foster kids to his study at his house in Meridian. Within the study, the players find a box containing a journal, a folded note with coordinates on it and the words, “If you ever need another Captain America”, and three metallic bracelets that when activated covered the body in nanotech armor.
Nanotech Armor:Captain Rogers left behind bracelets that, when activated, would create a defensive suit of armor around the person, dependent on their need. For characters who wish to build a suit of powered armor, like Iron Man, they can use this gift to have a free action activation for their suit of armor. It operates like the newest model of Iron Man armor shown in Endgame. Otherwise, the suit can mimic just about any form necessary, including costumes for each individual. They can be programmed using a laptop and create their own connections to computer devices or even smart phones. This is more of a descriptive Feature than it is a power effect that can be abused.
